Michael Londra Celtic Christmas 12/19/15 7PM $180

Emmy® nominated, Irish singer-songwriter, Michael Londra is from the opera capital of Ireland, a small town on the South East coast called Wexford. He decided in his early 30’s to follow his heart and pursue a professional singing career. His leap of faith was rewarded when he soon became a leading man in musical theater in Dublin playing many roles. US director and choreographer, Larry Fuller asked Michael to play Bobby Kennedy in the world premier of “JFK” where he was noticed by the producers of Riverdance.

He was offered the role of lead singer in the US National Tour which included performances at Radio City Music Hall and the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. In March 2000, Michael again was offered the position of lead singer in the new production of Riverdance on Broadway, taking the role from acclaimed Irish singer Brian Kennedy. This was the platform from which Michael’s recording and producing career began.

Evening with Dale Watson 12/18/15 7PM $120

Dale Watson is a honky tonk hero and country music maverick, a true outlaw carrying on where Waylon Jennings left off. A member of the Austin Music Hall of Fame, he stands alongside Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and George Strait as one of the finest country singers and songwriters from the Lone Star State.

Although Dale has made his name as a Texas artist, he actually was born in Alabama. Moving to Houston as a teenager, his musical journey began right out of high school as he started playing clubs and local honky-tonks. In 1988, it led him to move to Los Angeles on the advice of rockabilly singer-guitarist Rosie Flores. He played in the house band at the legendary Palomino Club in Hollywood for a couple years and recorded a few singles before moving to Nashville to write songs for a publishing company run by Gary Morris (writer of such country/pop hits as “The Wind Beneath My Wings”). Commercial country did not fit the fiercely independent songwriter so Dale relocated to Austin, Texas where he got a record deal and wrote several songs poking fun at the industry side of Nashville, including “Nashville Rash” from his Hightone debut Cheatin’ Heart Attack and “A Real Country Song” from his 1996 follow-up Blessed or Damned.

Rockapella 12/6/15 7PM $230

They’ve become one of the world’s most sophisticated, lasting, and imitated vocal groups around today. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more influential group out there in this new era of network television a cappella shows like NBC’s The Sing-Off, movies like Pitch Perfect, and innumerable college vocal groups that own the corner of cool on campuses everywhere.

Since the early ’90’s when they first achieved national television fame on PBS’s Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?, they’ve toured the globe and provided a funky powerful soundtrack to several generations of vocal music fans, while keeping it all fresh along the way. With buckets of catchy original pop songs, and complete contemporary revisions of sparkling Motown, pop, and soul classics, this group has always been the one to watch. ”Often imitated – never duplicated” applies here. T. G. Sheppard 11/7/15 $140 7PM

He was the singular artist who put a massive amount of gold in the teeth of the country music industry’s biggest ‘sales bite’ in history—during the ‘Golden Era’ of the late ‘70’s and early ‘80’s as the success of ‘Urban Cowboy’ helped usher in a new wave of country.  T.G. opened the ‘80’s with a remarkable run of a dozen #1’s hits that would forever secure his place in industry history.   He brought romance—and yes, sex appeal—to country music at a time when young men in hats were first saddling up to monopolize the range on the nation’s airwaves.

Hal Ketchum 9/26/15 $140 7:30PM

SONGWRITING LEGEND HAL KETCHUM RETURNS IN TOP FORM WITH GENRE-PUSHING NEW ALBUM ‘I’M THE TROUBADOUR’ OUT NOW ON MUSIC ROAD RECORDS

“I had pretty much thrown in the towel. I wasn’t interested in putting out another big country album. I’ve done that. I’ve been there, man,” says chart topping legend and Grand Ole Opry member Hal Ketchum, describing his recent five-year respite from the music industry.

Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis fifteen years ago, the symptoms were starting to catch up with Ketchum, who is now 61 years old. “I went through some really serious bouts of paralysis, blindness and the fear that goes with all of that. I was in kind of a dark place,” he says. “I didn’t write, didn’t perform. I was just laying low, living in a cabin out in Wimberley, TX.”

After focusing on his health for several years, his strength began to return, but Ketchum soon realized he would never really be himself without returning to his lifelong art form. “I came to the realization that I had gotten to this deep level of depression, and I finally said to myself, ‘I can still do this. I can still write.’”

Ketchum began to write again, jotting down song ideas in the notebook he carries with him at all times. “The key for me was getting up every morning and having something real to do. Some days, my hands don’t work as well as they should, I’ll get a little wobbly on occasion, but I just keep going.”

Soon, he had a handful of songs and demos, which he sent out to friends in the music industry. “I wasn’t really planning on doing another album,” says Ketchum, who has produced fifteen Top 10 singles and sold more than five million albums in his career. “The whole Nashville scene is extremely competitive. You’re as good as your last record. People are always showing you spreadsheets on how much money you owe for videos and tour support and everything else. I think there’s a certain level of resentment that comes with that.”

But when Jimmy LaFave and Kelcy Warren of the small Austin, TX label Music Road Records heard his songs, they knew they had to convince Ketchum to write another album. “We had a great talk, and they said ‘Hal, you’ve made these great country records, but we really want to challenge you to reach outside of your comfort zone and write from your heart,” Ketchum recalls. “So that was my goal.”

The result is Hal Ketchum’s first full-length studio release in 6 years, ‘I’m The Troubadour,’ just released on Music Road Records. In contrast to the pure country hits he’s famous for, ‘I’m The Troubadour’ finds Ketchum letting his songwriting expand into folk, blues, rock and soul.

According to Ketchum, he’s had this musical renaissance in him all along. “I like to say that I’ve been successfully misunderstood for 30 years. I mean, I was a cabinet maker from Gruene, TX. I got a record deal and I had a number one record out of the box, and suddenly I was a ‘country’ singer,” he says. “The genre served me very well, and I’m really grateful for the opportunities that the country music world brought to me. But creatively, this record was a really beautiful departure for me. It’s really opened me up again.”

Ketchum still loves country music, and has no problem playing the hits for his fans. “It’s an honor,” he says. But the freedom of working with Music Road Records, without genre restrictions and commercial pressure, has given him new life. “I think it’s going to be refreshing for people who haven’t heard me in a while to know that the old man’s still swingin’.”

“My mother put a great poem on my wall when I was a little kid called ‘Keep a-Goin’. It went -

Ain’t no use to sit and whine, ’cause the fish ain’t on your line,
bait your hook and keep a-tryin’, keep a-goin’.

“So that’s become my motto,” Ketchum says. “Just keep going.”

Before there was Americana, before there was Texas Country, Two Tons of Steel front man Kevin Geil and his original band, “Dead Crickets,” rocked a sound that blended the best of musical worlds and pushed the envelope of “Texas” sound with a signature brand of high-energy country meets raw punk.

The San Antonio-based group packed the small bars and local hangouts and quickly became the Alamo City’s most-loved band, earning them a spot on the cover of Billboard Magazine in 1996. It was the beginning of a twenty year journey for Geil and the 4-piece ensemble.

Releasing “Two Tons Of Steel” in 1994 and “Crazy For My Baby” in 1995 on Blue Fire Records, a sponsorship deal with Lone Star Beer quickly followed. Dead Crickets, renamed Two Tons of Steel in 1996 began traveling outside of Texas, including stops at the Grand Ole’ Opry in Nashville, Tenn., the National Theater in Havana, Cuba, and European tours, to greet fans who had embraced their Texas-born sound. In 1996 they released “Oh No!” on their independent label, “Big Bellied Records.” They followed up the passion project with a live recording at the legendary Gruene Hall in Gruene, Texas, taped during a Two Ton Tuesday Show 1998.

In 2013, the band marks 18 years of “Two Ton Tuesday Live from Gruene Hall.” The summer-long event drew 13,000 fans in 2012 and more than 150,000 fans since it began its annual run in 1995.

The popular concert series was captured in “Two Ton Tuesday Live,” a DVD-CD combo released on Palo Duro Records in 2006. Also that year, the band’s first national release, “Vegas,” produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Lloyd Maines on the Palo Duro label, took them to No. 7 on the Americana Music Charts and was one of the top 20 releases of 2006. Two Tons released “Not That Lucky” in 2009. The album peaked at No. 4 on the Americana Music Charts and has made Two Tons of Steel a band to watch in 2013.

Along the way, the band has collected a number of awards. To date, Two Tons has cleaned up at home, winning "Band of the Year" on 12 separate occasions and "Album of the Year" for its self-titled debut. Two Tons has also been named "Best Country Band" by the San Antonio Current ten times. Geil also has nabbed 'Best Male Vocal' honors four times.

Two Tons of Steel’s  reach extends beyond their live gigs. In 2003, the band was filmed during a “Two Ton Tuesday” gig for the IMAX film, "Texas: The Big Picture," which can be seen daily at the IMAX Theatre in the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin and has been seen as far away as Japan.  The band also has been featured as supporting characters in award-winning author Karen Kendall's romance novel, "First Date."

Two Tons Of Steel, Kevin Geil, Jake “Sidecar” Marchese on Upright Bass, Brian Duarte on Lead Guitar and Paul Ward on Drums continues to push the line between country and punk with its next project “Unraveled” produced by Lloyd Maines, due out July 2, 2013.
